God Knows Best

Just why I suffer loss, I cannot know;
I only know that my God wills it so.
He leads in paths that I cannot understand,
But ev'ry step I take, He's wisely planned.

My life is only mine that I may use
The gifts he lends to me as He may choose;
And if, in His love, some boon He does recall,
I know that unto God belongs my all.

I am His child, and in Him I can trust;
He loves me, and I know that He is just.
Within His loving arms, I can safely rest,
Knowing that what God does for me is best.
