When the Sandman Comes

When the sun sets at night,
Then the Sandman comes,
Bringing his bag of sand.
In the bag he keeps
All the sands of sleep,
Which he sprinkles over all the land.
In her chamber low
My darling sleeps,
And thro' the pane
The full moon peeps,
A silvery beam
Thro' the window streams
As my darling drifts
To the Land of Dreams.
