Kitty white so slyly comes
To catch the mousie gray,
But mousie hears the kitty come,
And quickly runs away!
Run, run, you dear little mouse,
Run quickly 'round the house,
For kittycat is catching up,
And she might eat you for her sup!

Formation:

One child is selected as the cat; and another as the mouse. The mouse walks around in the middle of the ring, with the other children in a joined circle around him/her. The cat walks slyly around the outside of the ring.

As the song starts, the cat breaks into the middle of the circle and tries to catch the mouse. They can go outside the circle for the chase. At the end of the chase, a new cat and mouse are chosen and the game resumes.
