Rabbit in the hollow sits and sleeps.

Hunter in the forest nearer creeps.
Little rabbit, please take care,
Sleeping in the hollow there;

You must run, rabbit, run!

FORMATION:

One child is chosen to be the rabbit, another the Hunter. The remaining children form a circle around the rabbit, hands joined, to represent the hollow, while the Hunter is positioned outside the circle.

(1) The rabbit sits and sleeps in the 'hollow.'

(2) The Hunter slowly starts creeping toward the rabbit.

(3) The Hunter begins to chase the Rabbit. The circle allows the Rabbit to pass freely, but tries to stop the Hunter. When the Rabbit is caught, the two players choose others to take their places and the game continues.
